The Yale Quartus is a genuine Yale inline espagnolette window handle, designed as the direct successor to the popular Sparta 2. Non-handed, it fits both left and right-hand opening windows, and its industry-standard 43mm screw fixing centres mean it replaces almost any existing uPVC or aluminium espag handle regardless of the original brand.
Built from tough die-cast zinc with a durable powder-coated or plated finish, the Quartus features push-button opening with key deadlocking for security — the handle locks and cannot be flicked open, and the push-to-open button adds child safety. Every handle ships with fixing screws, a Yale key and colour-matched screw cover cap.
Replace your window handle if: the handle is stiff, loose or spinning freely; the key no longer locks it; the lever has snapped or the finish has corroded; or you simply want matching handles across the house. Measure your spindle length (base of the handle to the tip of the metal bar) and choose the nearest size — a slightly longer spindle is usually fine as most gearboxes accept extra depth.

Fitting in Three Steps

Remove the old handle. Open the window, prise off the screw covers and undo the two fixing screws. |

Measure the spindle. From the base of the old handle to the tip of the square bar — match to the nearest size. |

Fit the Quartus. Insert the spindle into the gearbox, secure with the two screws supplied and press on the cover cap. |

Will this fit my window?
Almost certainly — espag handles are made to an industry-standard 43mm screw centre spacing, so the Quartus replaces most existing uPVC and aluminium window handles whatever the original brand. Just match the spindle length.
How do I measure the spindle length?
Remove your existing handle and measure from the base of the handle to the tip of the square metal bar. If you are between sizes, go slightly longer — most window gearboxes accept extra spindle depth.
Do I need a left or right-handed version?
No. The inline Quartus is non-handed and works on both left and right-hand opening windows.
Is the gold finish real gold?
The finish is Champagne Gold — a plated, lacquered champagne-tone finish, not solid gold. It suits brass and gold-effect window furniture.
Can it be used as a non-locking handle?
