Gearbox & Operation
The Lockmaster gearbox is available in 35mm and 45mm backsets and supports both double and single spindle options:
- Double spindle: 92mm / 62mm PZ centres, unsprung – requires sprung handles. Supports lift lever or nightlatch operation.
- Single spindle: Sprung mechanism, lift lever only.
- Gearbox dimensions: 228mm height x (backset + 15mm) width
- Latch and deadbolt height: 30mm each
- 65mm spacing between latch and deadbolt

Note: Some older Lockmaster locks may include a small spindle hole near the latch, previously used to hold the latch back.
How to Lock and Unlock
Locking
- Close the door to engage the latch.
- Lift the handle to activate the locking points.
- Turn the key to fully lock the door.
Unlocking
- Turn the key to release the lock.
- Push the handle down to disengage the locking points.
- Turn the key again to retract the latch.
