GU Europa Multipoint Door Lock – Split Spindle with Latch, Deadbolt, 2 Hooks & 2 Inboard Rollers (726mm Top Hook to Spindle)

This high-security GU Europa multipoint door lock is designed for uPVC and aluminium doors and features a split spindle operation. The configuration includes a latch, deadbolt, two inboard hooks, and two rollers that provide compression to help improve weather sealing and door alignment.

Part of the GU Secury range, the "Europa" variant is available in split spindle or lift lever operation. This version includes split spindle functionality, making it ideal for use with night latch-style handles. All Europa locks follow a standard layout to ease manufacturing and retrofitting. You may also see these locks referred to as "GU Ferco" due to historical branding.

Identifying & Compatibility:

GU multipoint locks are identifiable by the stamped GU logo on the faceplate. Older versions differ slightly in gearbox shape—newer versions have a vertical groove, while older ones have a cut corner. Replacement gearboxes are not interchangeable between old and new styles.

When upgrading, the locking positions mostly align, though you may need to replace the keeps due to the thicker deadbolts in the newer models. The Europa series comes in various hook types, including slim “tongue hooks” and standard “SH” rhino-style hooks, both offering anti-saw protection. Deadbolts (labelled “MR”) also improve security and door compression.

Operation Instructions:

To Lock:

• Lift the handle to engage hooks and rollers.
• Turn the key to engage the deadbolt and secure the system.

To Unlock:

• Turn the key to release the deadbolt.
• Push the handle down to retract all locking points.

Latch Reversal:

• Older versions: Undo screws, reverse latch, and refit.
• Newer versions: Use a flathead screwdriver in the slot above the spindle and reverse latch.
