Compatibility & Identification

GU multipoint locks are easily identified by the GU logo stamped on the faceplate. If your current lock has a cut-out top corner on the gearbox, it is the old style. The new style features a vertical groove, making it compatible with modern handle bolts. These gearboxes are not interchangeable, so confirm your lock version before ordering.

Installation & Adjustment

While most locking positions align with older versions, minor adjustments—particularly to the latch and deadbolt keep—may be required. If upgrading from an older system, it’s recommended to replace the keeps to accommodate the thicker, chamfered deadbolts on new GU models.

Roller System

GU’s roller cams assist with door compression, reducing draughts and water ingress. These adjustable (+/- 1mm) rollers provide consistent sealing and help prevent door warping over time. Rollers can be inbound or outbound, so always verify spacing before purchasing.

Security & Durability

The GU Secury MR system features chamfered deadbolts and a robust roller configuration for reliable door compression and moderate security. For high-security installations, combining these locks with reinforced keeps and handles is recommended.

How to Lock & Unlock

• To Lock: Lift the handle to engage locking points, then turn the key to deadlock.
• To Unlock: Turn the key to release the deadbolt, then push the handle down to retract rollers and latch.
