This is a genuine Fullex XL passive gearbox – the centre case fitted to the passive (slave) lock on the secondary leaf of a pair of French doors. It has no key cylinder of its own and is operated by lifting the lever, engaging the upward-throwing hook to secure the second door once the master leaf is shut.
The Fullex XL range is offered in 35mm and 45mm backsets across single, double and split spindle configurations, but every case shares the same dimensions: 227mm high by the backset plus 15mm. This version is the 35mm backset case, giving an overall width of 50mm. The hook is manufactured from Dacromet-coated A3 sintered steel and stands approximately 23mm high for a strong, corrosion-resistant engagement.
Each case fixes to its locking strip with three equidistant screws – the centre screw sitting 108mm from both the top and bottom screws. A snib on the faceplate lets you hold the latch back during fitting and door alignment. Being genuine Fullex, fit, throw and screw centres match the original mechanism exactly.
