Yale G2000 replacement gearbox — 35mm backset

A genuine Yale centre gearbox for matching G2000 multipoint door locks. Its distinctive layout has the hook above the latch and two spindle holes. Compare this arrangement and the measurements with your existing gearbox before ordering.

Measurements and operation

• Backset: 35mm, measured from the front of the fitted faceplate to the spindle centre.
• PZ centres: 92mm from the upper spindle centre to the cylinder centre, or 62mm from the lower spindle centre.
• Case body: 195mm high × 50mm wide, as shown in the technical drawing.
• Two 8mm spindle holes.
• Lift-lever or twin-spindle nightlatch operation, depending on the handle and spindle arrangement.
• Latch and hookbolt mechanism; reversible latch for left- or right-handed doors.

Check your cylinder

This gearbox is designed for Yale cylinders. Yale cylinders use a larger cam; a cylinder from another brand may not operate the mechanism correctly. Check your cylinder as well as the gearbox before ordering.

Identifying the right replacement

Older G2000 cases can have a yellow or gold-coloured finish, while the replacement has a silver-coloured finish. Match the model, layout, dimensions and connection points rather than colour alone. If your hook is below the latch, check the Yale Asgard model instead — it is a different gearbox.

What is supplied

One replacement centre gearbox. This is not a complete full-length multipoint locking strip. Handles and cylinder are not included.

Fitting notes

The latch can be reversed by removing its retaining screw, turning the latch over, refitting it and securing the screw. Match the original handle and spindle arrangement. Test the lock with the door open before closing it; if the mechanism binds, check alignment rather than forcing the handle.
