Upgrade your home security in minutes with the UPVCSTORE TS007 3 Star Euro Double Cylinder. Independently tested and certified by BSI to the highest standalone security rating for euro cylinders, this lock provides complete protection against snapping, drilling, picking, bumping, and pulling – without the need for additional security handles.
Designed for UPVC, composite, timber, and aluminium doors, this double cylinder requires a key to operate on both sides of the door, providing the highest level of security against manipulation through letterboxes, broken glass panels, or cat flaps. The preferred choice for maximum perimeter protection on front doors and glazed doors.
Why Choose a Double Cylinder?
A double cylinder (also called key/key) requires a key to lock and unlock from both sides of the door. This is the most secure configuration available.
|
🛡 Maximum Security A key is required on both sides. Even if an intruder breaks a glass panel or reaches through a letterbox, they cannot turn a knob to open the door. |
🔒 Glazed Door Protection Ideal for doors with glass panels, sidelights, or decorative glazing where an intruder could smash through and reach the internal lock mechanism. |
|
🏠 Letterbox Security Prevents the common burglary technique of fishing through a letterbox with wire tools to manipulate the internal lock. A key is needed – no knob to turn. |
💪 Front Door Standard The most popular choice for main entrance doors. Used by the majority of UK homes with UPVC and composite front doors for maximum forced entry resistance. |
Looking for keyless internal exit? If you need to lock and unlock from inside without a key – for example for fire safety, accessibility, or everyday convenience – consider our Euro Key and Thumbturn Cylinder, also available from UPVCSTORE in the same TS007 3 Star specification.
Complete Anti-Attack Protection
|
🛡 Anti-Snap Precision-engineered sacrificial breakpoint. If attacked, the cylinder snaps at the designated line and the cam locks securely behind a solid metal barrier. Your door stays locked even after a snap attack. |
|
🔨 Anti-Drill Hardened stainless steel anti-drill pins embedded throughout the cylinder body prevent high-powered drill attacks from penetrating the lock mechanism. |
|
🔐 Anti-Pick and Anti-Bump Complex 6-pin dimple key profile makes it extremely difficult to manipulate the internal pins with lock-picking or bump key techniques – two of the most common low-skill break-in methods. |
|
💪 Anti-Pull Reinforced cam connection prevents the cylinder from being forcibly extracted from the door using pulling tools. |
TS007 3 Star – The Highest Standalone Rating
Unlike 1-star cylinders (which are not anti-snap) or 2-star handles (which must be paired with a separate cylinder), a 3-star cylinder achieves the maximum security rating on its own – no additional security handles required.
|
1 STAR Resists drill, pick, bump ✗ Not anti-snap |
2 STAR Security handle only ⚠ Requires two products |
3 STAR Standalone cylinder Resists all 5 attacks BSI Kitemarked ✓ This is what you are buying |
Certified to TS007-1:2014+A2:2018 and carrying BSI Kitemark number KM733343, permanently engraved on the cylinder body for verification. Meets the lock security standards commonly referenced by UK home insurance policies.

No locksmith required. Replacing a euro cylinder is one of the simplest home security upgrades you can make.
|
1

2

3
🔒 Insert and Secure Slide in the new cylinder, tighten the retaining screw, and test with the key. |
How to Measure Your Euro Cylinder
Remove your existing cylinder and measure from the centre of the fixing screw hole to each end. Round to the nearest 5mm.
| Measurement | Description |
| A – Internal | Centre of screw hole to the inside edge of the door |
| B – External | Centre of screw hole to the outside edge of the door |
| Your Size | Internal / External – for example 40int / 45ext = select "40/45 (85mm)" |
Important: The cylinder should sit flush with your handle, protruding no more than 3–5mm beyond the escutcheon. Excess protrusion gives burglars a grip point for snapping. If in doubt, go slightly shorter.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if this will fit my door?
If your door currently has a euro profile cylinder – the oval-shaped barrel that sits inside the handle – then this is a direct replacement. Remove your existing cylinder, measure from the centre of the screw hole to each end, round to the nearest 5mm, and select the matching size from the dropdown above. The first measurement is the internal side (inside your home) and the second is the external side (outside).
What is the difference between a double cylinder and a thumbturn?
A double cylinder requires a key on both sides of the door. This provides the highest level of security, as an intruder cannot open the door from inside even if they reach through a broken glass panel or letterbox. A thumbturn cylinder has a key on the outside and a twist knob on the inside for keyless internal exit. Choose the double cylinder for doors with nearby glazing or letterboxes. Choose the thumbturn for solid doors, flats, or where fire safety egress is a priority.
What does TS007 3 Star mean?
TS007 is a British security standard for euro cylinders, developed by the Door and Hardware Federation. The 3 Star rating is the highest standalone level, meaning the cylinder resists all five main attack methods – snapping, drilling, picking, bumping, and pulling – on its own, without the need for an additional security handle. This is the standard most UK insurance companies reference for door lock security.
Does this meet my home insurance requirements?
TS007 3 Star BSI Kitemarked cylinders meet the lock security standards commonly referenced by UK home insurance policies. We recommend checking your specific policy wording or contacting your insurer to confirm their requirements.
Can I fit this myself?
Yes. Replacing a euro cylinder is a straightforward DIY job that takes approximately 2 minutes. The only tool you need is a Phillips screwdriver. No locksmith, no drilling, and no specialist equipment required. Two fixing screws are included to suit different door thicknesses.
What do the size numbers mean?
Sizes are listed as internal / external. For example, "35int / 45ext (82mm)" means 35mm from the centre screw hole to the inside of the door and 45mm from the centre to the outside, giving a total length of 82mm. The internal and external measurements do not need to be equal – most UK doors use an offset (asymmetric) cylinder where one side is longer than the other.
How many keys are included?
Three high-security dimple keys are included with every cylinder, along with a key code card so you can order secure replacement keys in the future without needing to take the lock to a locksmith.
