Upgrade your home security in minutes with the UPVCSTORE TS007 3 Star Euro Cylinder. Independently tested and certified by BSI to the highest standalone security rating for euro cylinders, this lock provides complete protection against snapping, drilling, picking, bumping, and pulling – without the need for additional security handles.
Designed for UPVC, composite, timber, and aluminium doors, this cylinder is available in two configurations: a Double Cylinder (Key/Key) that requires a key on both sides for maximum security, or a Key & Thumbturn Cylinder with a key outside and a convenient twist knob inside for keyless exit. Simply select your cylinder type, size, and finish from the dropdown above.
Configuration
Key/Key or Thumbturn – Which Should You Choose?
Both configurations carry the same TS007 3 Star BSI Kitemarked security. The right choice depends on your door and how you use it.
Double Cylinder (Key/Key)
A key is required on both sides of the door
✓Maximum security – even if an intruder breaks a glass panel or reaches through a letterbox, there is no knob to turn.
✓Glazed door protection – ideal for doors with glass panels, sidelights, or decorative glazing.
✓Letterbox security – defeats letterbox fishing with wire tools. A key is needed to open from inside.
✓Front door standard – the most popular choice for UK UPVC and composite main entrance doors.
Key & Thumbturn
Key on the outside, twist knob on the inside
✓Emergency egress – exit quickly in case of fire without searching for keys in the dark. One turn and you are out.
✓Flats and HMOs – often required by building regulations for internal fire doors and communal entrances.
✓Elderly and accessibility – much easier to operate than a key for those with limited hand strength or dexterity.
✓Everyday convenience – simply turn the knob to lock up when leaving the house or going to bed.
Quick rule of thumb: If your door has glass panels or a letterbox nearby, choose the Double Cylinder (Key/Key) – a thumbturn could potentially be reached through broken glass. For solid doors, flats, or wherever keyless fire-safety exit is a priority, choose the Key & Thumbturn.
Security Engineering
Complete Anti-Attack Protection
Independently tested to resist the five attack methods used in real-world burglaries.
|
✓
|
Anti-Snap Precision-engineered sacrificial breakpoint. If attacked, the cylinder snaps at the designated line and the cam locks securely behind a solid metal barrier. Your door stays locked even after a snap attack. |
|
✓
|
Anti-Drill Hardened stainless steel anti-drill pins embedded throughout the cylinder body prevent high-powered drill attacks from penetrating the lock mechanism. |
|
✓
|
Anti-Pick and Anti-Bump Complex 6-pin dimple key profile makes it extremely difficult to manipulate the internal pins with lock-picking or bump key techniques – two of the most common low-skill break-in methods. |
|
✓
|
Anti-Pull Reinforced cam connection prevents the cylinder from being forcibly extracted from the door using pulling tools. |
The Standard Explained
TS007 3 Star – The Highest Standalone Rating
Unlike 1-star cylinders (which are not anti-snap) or 2-star handles (which must be paired with a separate cylinder), a 3-star cylinder achieves the maximum security rating on its own – no additional security handles required.

Fitting
Easy 2-Minute DIY Installation
No locksmith required. Replacing a euro cylinder is one of the simplest home security upgrades you can make – all you need is a Phillips screwdriver.
Remove
Turn key to 12 o'clock. Unscrew the retaining screw from the door edge.
Slide Out
Turn the key slightly and pull the old cylinder straight out through the handle.
Insert & Secure
Slide in the new cylinder, tighten the retaining screw, and test with the key.
Sizing
How to Measure Your Euro Cylinder
Remove your existing cylinder and measure from the centre of the fixing screw hole to each end. Round to the nearest 5mm.
Important: The cylinder should sit flush with your handle, protruding no more than 3–5mm beyond the escutcheon. Excess protrusion gives burglars a grip point for snapping. If in doubt, go slightly shorter.
Sizing note: Key/Key cylinders are available in offset (asymmetric) internal/external combinations. Key & Thumbturn cylinders are available in equal splits – 40/40 (80mm), 45/45 (90mm), and 50/50 (100mm) – with the thumbturn side fitted to the inside of the door.

Frequently Asked Questions
QHow do I know if this will fit my door?
If your door currently has a euro profile cylinder – the oval-shaped barrel that sits inside the handle – then this is a direct replacement. Remove your existing cylinder, measure from the centre of the screw hole to each end, round to the nearest 5mm, and select the matching size from the dropdown above. The first measurement is the internal side (inside your home) and the second is the external side (outside).
QWhat is the difference between Key/Key and Key & Thumbturn – and which should I choose?
A double cylinder (Key/Key) requires a key on both sides of the door. This provides the highest level of security, as an intruder cannot open the door from inside even if they reach through a broken glass panel or letterbox. A thumbturn cylinder has a key on the outside and a twist knob on the inside for keyless internal exit. Choose the double cylinder for doors with nearby glazing or letterboxes. Choose the thumbturn for solid doors, flats, or where fire safety egress is a priority. Both configurations are available from the Cylinder Type dropdown above.
QWhat does TS007 3 Star mean?
TS007 is a British security standard for euro cylinders, developed by the Door and Hardware Federation. The 3 Star rating is the highest standalone level, meaning the cylinder resists all five main attack methods – snapping, drilling, picking, bumping, and pulling – on its own, without the need for an additional security handle. This is the standard most UK insurance companies reference for door lock security.
QDoes this meet my home insurance requirements?
TS007 3 Star BSI Kitemarked cylinders meet the lock security standards commonly referenced by UK home insurance policies. We recommend checking your specific policy wording or contacting your insurer to confirm their requirements.
QCan I fit this myself?
Yes. Replacing a euro cylinder is a straightforward DIY job that takes approximately 2 minutes. The only tool you need is a Phillips screwdriver. No locksmith, no drilling, and no specialist equipment required. Two fixing screws are included to suit different door thicknesses.
QWhat do the size numbers mean?
Sizes are listed as internal / external. For example, "35mm Internal / 45mm External (80mm)" means 35mm from the centre screw hole to the inside of the door and 45mm from the centre to the outside. The internal and external measurements do not need to be equal – many UK doors use an offset (asymmetric) cylinder where one side is longer than the other. Please note the Key & Thumbturn version is available in equal splits only – 40/40 (80mm), 45/45 (90mm), and 50/50 (100mm) – with the thumbturn side fitted to the inside.
QHow many keys are included?
Three high-security dimple keys are included with every cylinder, along with a key code card so you can order secure replacement keys in the future without needing to take the lock to a locksmith.
