What is a Window Gearbox Backset? - Comprehensive Window Gearbox Guide UPVC-Store

Firstly a window gearbox backset is the distance from the bottom of the faceplate to the centre of the screw holes and spindle hole, the backset will be 20mm or 22mm please see picture below for guide;
The overall width will be from the top of the gearbox to the bottom and the screw centres will be industry standard 43mm.
