About the GU Secury Europa Range

The GU Secury Europa multipoint lock range is widely trusted for its strength and durability. Available in both split spindle (night latch-style) and lift lever variants, these locks offer installation flexibility. Older GU locks were often branded as “Ferco,” especially those with 70mm PZ centres. Modern 92mm PZ models are branded as GU.

Compatibility & Identification

GU locks are easy to identify by the stamped GU logo on the faceplate. Newer gearboxes feature a vertical groove at the top of the case, while older styles have a chamfered corner. Note: gearboxes are not interchangeable between the old and new styles.

Replacing Old GU Locks

Upgrading from older GU multipoint locks is usually straightforward. While most locking points align, the keeps may need adjusting or replacing to accommodate newer, thicker deadbolts. Mushroom and roller cam positions may also differ slightly.

Installation & Adjustments

• Latch Reversal:
  Older versions: Remove screws, reverse the latch, and refit.
  Newer versions: Insert a flat screwdriver into the slot above the spindle, pull the latch, reverse and reinsert.
• Roller Adjustment: +/-1mm for optimal weather sealing.

Lock Operation

• To Lock: Lift the handle to engage locking points, then turn the key to secure the deadbolt.
• To Unlock: Turn the key to release the deadbolt, then push the handle down to retract locking points and latch.
