Fullex SL16 Multipoint Door Lock – Split Spindle, Latch & 3 Deadbolts – 16mm Faceplate for uPVC & Composite Doors
Product Overview
The Fullex SL16 multipoint door lock offers advanced security and durability, trusted for decades in both private and social housing applications. This model includes three steel deadbolts and a central latch, providing reliable multipoint protection. It features a distinctive 68mm PZ centre—a measurement unique to Fullex multipoint locks.
Key Features
This lock is available with a split spindle mechanism, suitable for lift-lever or nightlatch-style operation. It supports backsets of 35mm, 45mm, or 55mm, and is compatible with 16mm or 20mm faceplates, all made from austenitic stainless steel for excellent corrosion resistance.
The gearbox is compact and efficient, measuring 194mm high and backset + 15mm wide. Internally, the latch is 27mm high, the deadbolt is 32mm, and the space between the latch and deadbolt is 65mm. The gearbox includes fixing tabs (15mm x 9mm) and is secured to the faceplate with screws positioned 206mm apart.
Locking Mechanism & Configuration
The top and bottom deadbolts are positioned 650mm above and below the spindle, respectively. Some versions of the SL16 also include an additional hook lock located 345mm above the spindle, between the gearbox and top deadbolt.
This lock is non-handed, meaning it works on both left- and right-handed doors. The main gearbox includes both a latch and a deadbolt, and all models use an 8mm split spindle for versatile functionality.
Operation Instructions
To lock the door:
- Lift the handle to engage the deadbolts and latch.
- Turn the key to deadlock the mechanism.
To unlock the door:
- Use the key to unlock the deadbolts.
- Push the handle down to disengage the locking points and retract the latch.
Durability & Standards
The Fullex SL16 is built to last. It features a 304-grade stainless steel faceplate for long-lasting resistance to corrosion. It has been cycle tested to 100,000 operations and meets BS EN 1670 Grade 5, withstanding up to 480 hours of salt spray corrosion testing.
This lock also meets the PAS24 security standard when installed with suitable hardware and is approved for Secured by Design doorsets.
Handle Compatibility
Handles must have 68mm centres (PZ). Compatible options include lever/lever and lever/pad handle sets, with or without a snib feature for holding back the latch. Standard Fullex accessories—including handles, keeps, and spindles—are fully compatible with the SL16 lock range.
